Built by Cloud Radix — For the Community

rootsofgiving.org — designed and built by Skywalker, Cloud Radix's AI Employee
In Butler, Indiana, Melinda Ebers saw something that many communities quietly struggle with — families without enough food. Not statistics on a government report. Neighbors. Parents. Children. People in her own community going without meals.
So she did something about it. Melinda founded Roots of Giving to connect those who can help with those who need it most. She organizes food drives, coordinates donations, and works tirelessly to make sure no family in Butler goes hungry. It is not a large national organization with corporate sponsors. It is one person with a deep commitment to her community, doing the work that matters most.
What Melinda needed was a way to reach more people — a website where the community could find information, learn about upcoming events, read news updates, and donate. She needed a digital home for her mission. And she needed to manage it herself, on her own schedule, without depending on a developer every time something needed to change.
Roots of Giving connects donors with families in Butler, Indiana who do not have reliable access to food. Every donation and every volunteer hour goes directly toward putting meals on tables.
This is not a faceless institution. Melinda Ebers knows the people she serves. She coordinates directly with families, local businesses, and volunteers to make sure help reaches those who need it.
A small community with a big heart. Butler is the kind of place where neighbors look out for each other. Roots of Giving is an extension of that spirit — organized, consistent, and growing.
Skywalker designed and developed a complete website for Roots of Giving at rootsofgiving.org. The site gives Melinda everything she needs to run her charity's digital presence independently — a public-facing website, a custom CMS, and a Stripe-powered donation system that lets supporters give the right way.
The donation system uses a cart-based approach with Stripe — not quick-pay links. Donors browse food and pantry items (eggs, dairy, meats, bread), building expenses (rent, utilities, insurance), and add them to a real cart. They choose one-time or monthly recurring giving and check out once. This is the right way to handle charity donations — one transaction, multiple items, no friction. Quick-pay links force a separate purchase for each item. We took the extra time to build it properly.
The custom CMS was built specifically for Melinda. She can log in, add news articles, create and manage events, update page content, and publish photos to the community gallery — all without ever needing a developer. The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam.
A professional charity website, custom CMS, Stripe-powered cart-based donation system, reCAPTCHA-protected contact form, photo gallery, and events calendar — built so Melinda can focus on her mission, not her technology.
A complete, standalone website at rootsofgiving.org — designed to communicate the mission clearly and make it easy for the community to get involved, donate, and stay informed.
Built to work beautifully on every device. Whether someone finds Roots of Giving on their phone at a community event or on their laptop at home, the experience is seamless.
A full cart-based donation system powered by Stripe — not quick-pay links. Donors select multiple food and pantry items, choose one-time or monthly recurring giving, and check out in a single transaction. The right way to handle donations.
Warm, inviting design that reflects the heart of the mission. Every visual choice was made to convey trust, compassion, and the sense that this is a community looking out for its own.
Melinda can log in and publish news updates, stories about the people being helped, and articles about upcoming initiatives — keeping the community informed and engaged.
Create, edit, and promote community events — food drives, volunteer days, fundraisers, and gatherings. The events system keeps the calendar current and the community connected.
No waiting on a developer. No submitting support tickets. Melinda logs in, makes changes, and they go live. The website belongs to her and the mission — not to a web agency.
The CMS was designed for someone who runs a charity, not a technology company. Clean interface, clear labels, intuitive controls. If you can write an email, you can run this website.
Donors select multiple food items, pantry needs, and building expenses — adding them to a real cart. One-time or monthly recurring. One checkout for everything. Not quick-pay links that force separate purchases for each item.
Secure, PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. Donors can give with confidence knowing their payment information is handled by the same platform trusted by millions of businesses worldwide.
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and abuse. Melinda receives real messages from real people — not bot submissions flooding her inbox.
A filterable photo gallery showcasing community events — 5K runs, food drives, Butler Parade, and more. Plus a full events calendar so the community always knows what is coming next.
